ELDERS

White Mountain Bible is an Elder-led church. 


Leadership is to be shared. The terms elders, leaders, overseers, pastors, 

shepherd, and bishops tend to be used interchangeably

in the New Testament showing that leadership is to be shared among a team of spiritual leaders.


  • Wayne Burdett


    Wayne accepted Christ during his teen years. He and his wife Lynda have been members of WMBC since 2003 and have three grown children.  Leader of the Global Outreach Team, Wayne has heart for the lost, the poor, and the abandoned.


  • Rick Fernau


    Rick accepted Christ at the age of 16 and he and his wife Kim are Charter members of WMBC. During their 25 years as members of WMBC, they have raised their daughter, Angela and son, Todd. They now have five grandchildren: Natalie, Avery, Zachary, Reid and Sarah. Rick works with the Home Group Ministries.



  • Steve Garrett


    Steve accepted Christ at the age of 14 and he and his wife Audrey started attending WMBC in 1991. They have two sons and one grandson. Steve came to Arizona in 1977 from Alaska! Steve is the Treasurer for WMBC as well as working with Men's Ministries.



  • Tim Baxter


    Tim was born in upstate New York, but was raised in Tucson. He married Wendy in 1975 and have two daughters. He graduated from Southwestern Bible College (now Arizona Christian University) and spent 32 years on the Tucson Fire Department. Tim and Wendy moved to Show Low in 2014.



  • Steve Bultman


    Born in Michigan, Steve moved to Tucson when he was 7 and grew up there. At the age of 12, he accepted Christ and enjoyed being part of church youth groups. He first started coming to the White Mountains in the 1960’s, attending summer church camp near Greer, vacationing, and skiing at Sunrise.  After graduating from the University of Arizona and retiring from a career as a consulting civil engineer, he and his wife, Leah, moved to the White Mountains in 2018 and became members of WMBC. 



  • Jeff Abney


    Born in Phoenix, Jeff spent most of his life in the valley. He and his wife Tina were married in 1978 and have 2 sons, 1 daughter and 6 granddaughters. After being at a church in the valley for nearly 20 years, they accepted the invitation to join a church plant where Jeff served as an elder and the administrative pastor. He and his wife have also spent many years doing short term missions. After retiring from ministry in 2020, Jeff and Tina moved to Show Low in 2021. 

  • Bob Jones


    Bob accepted Christ at the age of seven. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army where he was stationed at Ft. Bragg. After the Army, Bob became a Field Engineer maintaining and repairing CT Scanners for GE Healthcare. Bob married his wife, Theresa in November of 2000. They raised their four children together. Bob and Theresa have attended WMBC since 2016 and have served in many areas of the church during that time. Currently, they lead the Parents ministry on Wednesday nights. 

STAFF


  • Randy Walters

    Randy serves as our Lead/Teaching Pastor and Elder. He and his wife Tami, along with their four children joined the WMBC staff in 2010. He is a graduate of Phoenix Seminary (M.Div.) and The Master's Seminary (D.Min.). He previously served for about 18 years in the Student Ministries of Scottsdale Bible Church.

  • Brian Blomstrand

    Brian serves as our Director of Worship. His wife Laura is also part of the Worship Team. All three daughters, Emily, Katy, and Alison are gifted musically.

  • Tobi Van Nostrand

    Tobi serves as the Communications Administrative Assistant. She and her husband, David, have lived in Arizona since 2013. Together they have ministered to youth through the church youth group, foster care, as well as the American Indian Christian Mission in Linden. 

  • Tina Martignone

    Tina is serving as the Financial Administrative Assistant. She grew up near Temecula, CA attending private Christian schools from preschool to middle school and was saved around 10 years old during a youth camp trip. she is the mother of two and moved to Arizona in 2017 while her daughter was attending ASU. She also serves in Children's Ministry check-in at WMBC.

  • Shayna DaCruz

    Shayna serves as the Children's Ministry Director overseeing kids birth to sixth grade. She taught third grade at Mountain Christian School for four years and also is a dance instructor at the Dance Academy and Company in Lakeside. 

  • Dan Willeford

    Dan is serving as our Administrative Pastor. Dan accepted Christ at the age of four and grew up in the home of a Baptist Pastor.  He and his wife Shannon met while leading a mission trip to Mexico and have been married for 16 years.  Shannon is bi-lingual in Spanish and teaches 7th grade English at Blue Ridge Jr. High.  Dan has also spent two years in education teaching Jr./Sr. High School Bible and History classes for Cor Deo Christian Academy.  During this time he served as a college pastor for Southwest Hills Baptist Church in Beaverton, Oregon, before beginning combat rotations with the military.  Dan served 8 years in the US Army as a Sapper and Combat Engineer with time in AFGH. 


  • Danny Hernandez

    Danny serves as the Youth Ministry Director. He grew up in Camarillo, CA. He was saved at his hometown church when he was 12. After finishing high school, he went on to do two years at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, CA, where he met his wife, Emily. Emily grew up here on the White Mountains, so together they moved to Show Low in March 2020 and got plugged into WMBC in June of 2020.


Deacons


  • Dave and Lydia Larson

    Dave was born and raised in Minnesota and the oldest of five boys.  He met Lydia in the Philippines in1969 and got married in 1970.  They have two children, Tony and Jennifer and two granddaughters, Natalie and Gabi.  They moved to Arizona in 1984 and moved to the White Mountains in 1992.  Dave works with the hospitality ministry, is a member of the Global Outreach Team and leads a small group study.


    Lydia was born in Baguio City, Philippines, and came to the United States in 1970 to marry Dave. With the encouragement of a friend and neighbor, they started coming to WMBC in 2006.  The Lord inspired her to volunteer wherever there was a need. She now serves as a member of the Hospitality Ministry, responsible for the kitchen, Connection Time, Library, and Coffee with the Pastor with the help of our congregation, who faithfully volunteer their time to support this ministry.

  • Jim Coburn

    In 1991, Jim was saved and married at age 48. Jesus used his wife Linda to draw him to church. Living in Mesa, they were summer visitors before moving to the White Mountains full time. They have served as children's church teachers and small group leaders. They are committed to serving our Lord Jesus and the church body. 


  • Wayne Schlecht

    After a career of 30 years with Honeywell International, briefly as a Facilities Technician, and long term as a Senior Contracts Manager, Wayne retired and he and his wife, Shari, moved from Tucson, AZ to Lakeside, AZ in July 2020. After moving to the mountain, they visited White Mountain Bible Church and knew that they found their new church family. Since, they have found many opportunities at WMBC to use their God-given gifts in which to serve. Presently Wayne serves as deacon by taking care of WMBC facilities. 

  • Tina Abney


    Tina and Jeff were married in 1978 and are blessed with 2 sons, 1 daughter and 6 granddaughters. God called her to Himself in 1980 shortly after the birth of their first son. Serving the Lord at church has brought joy to Tina for 40+ years. Jeff and Tina found WMBC in 2017 when they bought a summer home in Show Low. In 2021, they sold their home in Peoria to live full time in Show Low. Tina is serving as Women's Ministry leader. She has a heart to serve the Lord at WMBC. 

  • Jack Francis


    Jack is a US Army veteran of 23 years. He has been attending WMBC since 1991. During that time, he served with children's church, VBS, and junior high/high school missions trips. Most recently, he has been involved with Men's First Thursday events and he hosts a home Bible study group. He has a heart for young adults and missions.
